My meditation is essentially based on Cistercian monastic practices. Daily reading and meditation (lectio divina) on the Psalms and other essential Scripture readings along with living in prayer. The Cistercians live by the motto “Ora et Labora,” that is, Prayer and Work. For the past 10 years I have been influenced by the work of the Holy Spirit and my relationship with several monks of Gethsemani Abbey in Kentucky. I make regular day trips and weekend retreats to the Abbey for Spiritual guidance and creativity, which always involves photography and poetry writing. I am also a Lay Cistercian of Gethsemani.
Randy Cox is a music publisher, composer, and lyricist with dozens of published choral pieces. His work has been published by over a dozen choral publishers, including Oxford University Press. He is also a Song Consultant for songwriters and composers all over the US, Canada, and Australia.
He is an award-winning publisher with songs on over 80,000,000 recordings by recording artists including Barbra Streisand, Amy Grant, Rich Mullins, Michael W Smith and hundreds more.
Randy lives in Nashville Tennessee.
