Michael Newhall

Michael Newhall studied and taught at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, as well as other universities and art schools in the Midwest, and at Naropa University in Colorado. He became a student of Kobun Chino Otogawa Roshi in 1974 and continued Zen practice and study in Japan, at Tassajara, and other Zen centers. He was the guiding teacher at Jikoji Zen Center from 2004 to 2021 and is currently an emeritus teacher at that center.
