My Dharma practice and creative practice invite me to move, to open to myself and to be present to what is before me. Here I am met with the element of discovery and surprise where I can explore my place in the world of nature as well as the inquiries which arise: Who am I? What am I doing? Where am I going? Here there is the possibility to go beyond that which is known and to tap into the layers that lie beneath the surface of things.
In my creative process I begin a painting with no preconceived ideas. As I engage with the flow of paint, the drips, marks, lines, and forms become a kind of dance; back and forth, adding and taking away. At the same time the act of painting becomes a search. In this search I am met with the delicate balances between control and freedom; definition and abstraction; conflict and resolution; and time and the timeless. This exploration can take me to unknown places bringing me insights which connect me to a deeper truth.
My interests and inspirations are rooted in the ever-changing worlds of nature and in metaphysics. My current work explores the dynamics, rhythms, tensions and power of the elements, the forces of nature, and the web of life that connects us to all things. It also explores our presence in the Mystery.
Underlying my art and dharma practices is my strong desire to be authentic and present for my life and to share my vision with the world. I invite my viewers to engage and experience my imagery.
